The Security Staff is responsible for monitoring and responding to security and emergency situations at Boise Centre's facility and events, as assigned.
Reporting to the Safety and Security Manager, the Security Staff follows safety and security policies and procedures to maintain a secure facility for clients, guests, and employees.
The Security Staff is responsible for providing excellent customer service by promptly responding to questions or concerns regarding the safety and security of Boise Centre.

WHAT DO SECURITY STAFF DO? Monitors events and building activities to ensure the safety of clients, guests, and employees Responds to security and emergency situations, safety incidents, and resolves operational issues Communicates regularly with supervisors and other departments to ensure the success of events by providing timely, respectful, and thorough customer service Documents incidents to share with the Safety and Security Manager Responds quickly to client and department needs and changes Assists with loading dock traffic and freight elevator activities Enforces all state or federal codes, and organizational policies related to safety and security Monitors Boise Centre properties, Grove Plaza, and Grove extensions Monitors safety equipment; first aid kits, AEDs, fire extinguishers, and personal protective equipment (PPE) Provides additional labor support for Operational, Event, or Facility related needs Participates in department, company, and industry related professional organizations and training Uses professional radio etiquette to communicate work-related information Performs a variety of related tasks and duties as assigned REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
One year of event or crowd control experience, preferred Minimum age requirement of 19 years old due to alcohol containment Knowledge of life safety guidelines, emergency, and security protocols Maintain a calm demeanor in times of crisis or pressure Manages workday efficiently Ability to become CPR/First Aid certified Proficient record keeping, spreadsheet, and word processing skills Advanced communication skills and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, internal staff, clients, customers, and the general public Ability to perform multiple functions in a fast-paced environment Ability to work in a high-stress, high-volume work environment Ability to prioritize tasks and be flexible with changes in work loads Assesses multiple demands and priorities and identifies necessary resources to handle critical work demands Ability to read, understand, and carry out simple and detailed written or verbal instructions Provides timely and thorough customer service to internal and external customers Communicates regularly within department and cross functional teams Interacts professionally and effectively with others Professionally deal with own emotions, reactions, and motivations and maintain a courteous demeanor at all times Present a neat, clean, and professional appearance by following established grooming and uniform standards Responsible to be dependable and a self-starter Regular and reliable work attendance at scheduled time on-site Works as a team player, sharing knowledge and skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
